Nice upgrade from 1st generation Domane.
I bought a Domane 4.7 seven years ago. It was my first and only carbon frame bike until the SL5. I loved that bike, but I was looking for an upgrade. I bought a Domane SL 5 in February. This bike provides me most of what I was looking for as an upgrade. The Shimano disk brakes really do provide...

Awesome bike. When built correctly at a LBS not a Trek shop
This is a great bike! I am really putting miles in on it and I am very comfortable. I am 6'5' and the 62cm fits great. Only issue was the quality of the buildup. It was done at a Trek store by a kid who was receiving guidance from other mechanics while they were assisting other customers. The kid ...

Love my TREK
This is my first Trek, I'm enjoying the smooth ride, the sleek look and the cool 2 tone color.
I love the feel of the ride of this bike.
It took a while to get it and the seat post was defective but I love the ride. Rock solid bottom bracket with no flex at all while remaining the most comfortable bike that I have ever ridden. I have been on Trex bike since 1990 and this is the best so far. I have to bring it back so they can fix the creaks and squeaks. I am buying Trex because it is made in America and you stand behind your products!

Caveat Emptor

trekbikes.com"Caveat Emptor" means buyer beware. Within about one year I've had: 1) A malfunctioned front derailleur through no fault of my own, 2) failed tubeless tires because the sealant wasn't working, and due to the mechanic's suggestion, I now use tubes. 3) a rear axle that has popped out of the frame twice. I had never removed the wheel or messed with the axle before the first incident. The local dealer charges me to fix the problems because I purchased the bike at a dealer two hours away and the dealerships do not have a reciprocal relationship. I don't know what's next and I'm reluctant to ride the bike. I'm thinking of getting rid of the bike even if I don't get a fair deal. I'm glad others aren't having the same experience.
Awesome Bike !!

Worth the wait

trekbikes.comI bought this bike in March of 2022. This was a huge upgrade from my 2009 Cannondale Synapse. Much smoother, not so much lighter due to the disc brakes, bigger wheels, etc. I've experienced very little fatigue riding this bike & just rode my 1st century on it this September. The down side I'd say is the down tube that is "supposed" to hold tube, CO2 & pump...it doesn't & messes with the cables inside. Aside from that this is an awesome bike & I would highly recommend!!

trekbikes.comThis is a great bike! I am really putting miles in on it and I am very comfortable. I am 6'5' and the 62cm fits great. Only issue was the quality of the buildup. It was done at a Trek store by a kid who was receiving guidance from other mechanics while they were assisting other customers. The kid put a dab of lube on the expansion tab of the seat mast which was not enough to keep it from sliding past the adjustment window. What a pain to get the mast out. The wheels de-tensioned and were no longer true. I brought the bike back and they were good enough to add a flat spot to my rear wheel. I then took the bike to my LBS to buy some enve wheels and the mechanic said "who build up your bike; it wasn't us was it?" I asked if it was jacked up and they said it was not built properly. They were kind enough to sort it out for free. It was amazing the difference after they squared it away. Other than that, Trek really did make a great bike.
I didn't regret going over my original budget

trekbikes.comI originally wanted an aluminum road bike with decent parts but they were unavailable at the time in the US so I bit the bullet and went for carbon. The first time I realized the difference was when I crossed an old dam with a brick road that I did many times before. The Domane SL is smooth. I have had no issues with the components so far. The 105 drivetrain is a tiny bit heavier and shifting might be a bit rougher than the Ultegra on the SL6 that I also test rode, but I'm not a racer. Brakes are strong and have good modulation which is important on the hilly terrain I typically ride. Overall, I'm satisfied with the bike, and the quality of ride it offers. I really like the blender stem and how the Bontrager lights can be clipped just below the seat. It gives the bike a very clean look even with accessories. I could fit a miniature pump/CO2 kit in the down tube, as well as a spare inner tube and a toolset. No punctures so far with over a 1000 miles in the bike, half of which was in the city where glass is everywhere. On the downside: During the first two weeks, the bike developed a squeal from the rear/bottom which was first thought to be the freehub but turned out it came from the rear wheel. Some spokes weren't tensioned properly which, I think, is a serious Q.C. issue on the factory side, hence the 4 stars. Fortunately, no accident happened and the issue was resolved under warranty. Another annoying thing with the bike which doesn't affect ride quality of course is the squealing that comes from where the cables are routed back into the frame behind the stem. Whenever the cables flex, in sharp turns, primarily in the city, they grind on the hole cover and produce the squealing. I think it's a design flaw that's not easy to fix without much modification to the cabling. I'm wondering if greasing the cables slightly would solve the issue, I haven't tried.

Best Bang for the Buck Trek Road Bike!

trekbikes.comI have become an avid cyclist over the past couple years. Was on a Trek FX4 Disc before this one. Wanted a do it all road bike with drop bars. Love the Satin Black finish, Endurance fit, and Iso Speed system! This bike is so dang comfortable and versatile! The Shimano 105 group set performance is great and feels very robust! Love the stock saddle on this bike! It's very comfortable and has sweet mount included for my Flare RT light. I added 105 PD pedals and would recommend them highly. Plan to upgrade the wheel set to the Bontrager Aeolus Elite 50 TLR carbon wheels this winter. So far I have put about 1,000 miles on the bike in all different settings. Overall very satisfied with this purchase! Only con at this time would be the included R3 tires. Already have had a few punctures on both tires. Thankfully the Bontrager sealant sealed them, but I will be changing to a Continental tire this winter. believe this is the best bang for the buck road bike that Trek currently offers.
This bike is really good

trekbikes.comApart from SIZE CHART being somewhat wrong for me, I really have nothing bad to say about the bike itself. That beings said. Bike has many, many good things about it. For starters, it's really "comfortable". It's also quite fast if you have strong legs... I would recommend Domane lineup to really anyone that looks for comfortable and versatile bike. One last thing... about _SIZE CHART_... you should be somewhat CAREFUL about this... chart puts me in mid of 60cm size, and I end up with 56cm that feels nice! I'm 187cm height with 88cm inseam (in socks). Each to its own, but I feel 56cm has enough length while also it has decent saddle to handlebar drop. On 58cm I had very little saddle to bar drop, let alone 60cm...
